I've been trying hard to get back on the site and put up at least the corrections and additions that have been sent
to me. I hope you'll all understand that for the next few months the site will remain somewhat idle while I am taking
care of Dad and caring for my brother, too. He's pretty sick with leukemia. I'm trying to finish a novel at the same
time. I
very much hope you will keep checking back every few weeks, the site will stay here, it will not be shut down, and if I can
get a moment to myself I will work on it bit by bit. Thank you all who sent me information and corrections, and I welcome

5/14/2011....NEWS!!!
I have a substantial amout of exciting information from several family sources as well as new research sources
which I have been attempting to get recorded here. I apologize I am deep into a writing project and have had little time to
devote. IMPORTANT: you will find SOME new data on the site right now, however, please keep
in mind that I have only"rough inputted" it, and what you see is like a draft. It is not complete by any means.
I usually put it in, go over it carefully to be sure it matches the info I have been given and THEN I publish it to the site.
I made an exception this time only because there is so much to input and it's been so long since I last put anything on, that
I wanted to at least get it up on the site and polish it as soon as I can. So, that said, please keep watching over the next

Update 4/20/2011 - I've been bedridden with the flu the last couple of days, perfect opportunity to working on the
site. The most important improvement is th addition of Nancy M'Cullagh / McCollough's page. She is the youngest child of Edward and sister to Patrick and
Edward. I've created a lineage chart for Nancy and her descendants. Another another note, lots of new Irish records
collections are now easily available, and I am hopeful we can find out a great deal more about Edward (maybe his wife's first
name??). I've added to the "history" page what I've learned, as well as adding tidbits here and there on other charts
over the last weeks. I have also uploaded photos I did not already have and there are plenty more to share thanks to fellow
genealogists' family trees. Important: The individual data I am providing on this site is often from various
sources. Generally if I can find a person's information from two or more sources, I've felt confident enough to record
it here. This is not a foolproof method, and I am sure there is information here that is either incorrect or can be expanded
upon, including name spellings and vital record dates. That's where I depend on you, to make sure I have the right data on
your line. Some have promised me those revisions as well as photos and documents but very rarely do they follow up :-). If
interest in the site is out there it would be good to know, as I've contemplated closing it. Please show your
interest by helping me in enriching the site with accurate data and emailing to me digital photos and photos or scans of documents
that you are willing to pass on for future generations to view here. I'm trying not to be too wordy here,
but hang in with me for just a moment longer. I need to make sure you are all aware that I do not intend to violate anyones
privacy by recording their names here. I've been seeing all of it from a genealogical perspective, and am not as aware as
I should be, that some people would rather I don't include their birthdates for example. I figure many might have much more
private information than I have here on facebook pages or other sources on the web. If you would ever are uncomfortable about
your information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I hope you all have a great Easter holiday. UPDATE 3/22/2011 - New and corrected information has been
added to the Edward McCollar page, thanks to a generous McCollor. I'd appreciate it if the contributor and others of that
line would take a close look at the changes and make sure I transcribed everything accurately. If you are one of those "cousins"
who promised me information, please take the time to do so, it's so important to the site. Update 2/6/2011... I'm getting little bits of information from
here and there, and have been using it to update and correct lineage charts. This information is being added to almost all
the charts so, you should take a new look at yours. I'm grateful for any information anyone throws my way, and am appreciative
for the opportunity to make the site as accurate and up to date as possible. There are so many blanks in the charts,

Question: Based on the data I have so far, what three surnames appear most often on the McCollor
family tree? Answer: So far I have on record third place the "Cates" at 40, second place "Smith" at 58,
and with 63 first place goes to "McQuillan". Honorable mentions are "Poulin", "McCarthy/McCarty",
"Baker", "Hunnewell", "Nelson", and "Poulin". "BUSINESS CARDS PAGE"... FEEDBACK WANTED. What would
you say about a page with McCollor Business Cards on it? Not like ads all over the site, just the one page. If you are

URGENT MESSAGE - PLEASE POST

is alive he may be in critical danger. He was last seen over a year ago being picked up in Hoosick Falls, NY by a couple he
met on an internet gaming site. He may be in Ohio. He has not contacted the family since leaving and we believe if he were
alive he would have at least contacted someone on his birthday or the last two Christmases, or would have called for money.
He is tall, red haired, and was stocky. The photo here, the best one we have, is a high school one, but is still a good representation
of how he looked at 29. If anyone has any information, please contact Charlene Fyfe (his other aunt) at 518-268-9769.

University of South Dakota? A estimated birthdate of 1931 is given.

Update 12/12/2010... I'm back! And thanks
to the information forwarded to me by several generous family members, I have this evening made corrections and/or additions
to the lineage pages of Edward McCollor , Alfred, Babe , Ivan, and Thomas Kennedy McCollor. Also small updates throughout the site, including some biographical information on Peter McCollor's second wife, Margaret Ferman, some biographical stuff on some others as well. To those who took the time to write with this info, PLEASE take a moment
to look over the chart to be sure I have transcribed the information correctly. Again, thanks so much for your contribution
to the site.
Update 11/30/2010... Still haven't been able to spend much time on the site, as I've have some lingering health problems,
and very little energy. I have heard from yet another family member with information to be recorded on the site, and
have added it to my list, which I can't wait to take care of. It's so good to hear from folks with corrections and new information.
Please continue to check back, I'll be back to the site as soon as I can. Update 10/15/2010 -- I'm feeling much better, thanks so much
for the kind words sent to me during the last few weeks. I have a ways to go before I'm 100% feeling well, my energy level
isn't very good, but I am looking forward to getting back to the site soon. A GREAT STORY was sent to me along with some data
updates that I'm anxious to share with you here, so check back again!

9/25/2010 ...Just an update, I've been very sick and unable to work on the site. I had major but routine
surgery early in the month, came home planning a slow but uneventful recovery and then found myself a few days later in the
ER with a very severe episode of hemolytic anemia. After a couple of days in the ICU I was transferred to a regular unit and
then released on this past Thursday. I've never been so happy to come home as I was on Thursday! It puts a lot
of things into perspective! I'm out of imminent danger now, am being monitored and treated aggressively so have no reason
not to anticipate a complete remission. Just wanted you all to know because I am not likely to be working on the site for
a while, and didn't want you to think I abandoned it. As always, please don't stop sending information, pictures, documents,
anything of any interest at all. I'd love to post some homestead photos such as the ones I have on the Alfred McCollor page,
and am always looking for photos of grave markers for the Cemetery Project. Thanks for any prayers you send my way, and I'll

UPDATE 9/4/10 --- I've finished inputing all the available information into
the John McCollough page, and listed what names we have to the names indexes. I have Ginette McCollough for providing me with
much information and encouragement and Marie McCollough for the very extensive family tree work she has posted on ancestry.com,
it must have taken her forever to compile the data but doing so was an invaluable contribution for current generations and
those to come. Thanks to both women! As always... the plea goes out to anyone who can provide me with corrections,

Update 8/31/2010 - I'm currently working on the John McCollough (son of Patrick and Bridget) lineage page, there is a lot
of information to be added and I'll be working on it more this week. NOTE: I found that there were two lineage pages for Thomas Kennedy McCollor,
an old one and a "newer" one. I removed the older one but am concerned many links on the McCollor and Associated
names indexes might point to the old one and not the new one. Until I get the chance to go in and find and correct them all,
please let me know if you find one. Remember, his chart can always be accessed from the master lineage page. Sorry for
any confusion. Update 8/23/2010: I've discovered
there is more lineage information in the McCollor Genealogy book which I have yet to record here, so I will be going through
and adding it where appropriate. I've been working on the John Carroll page, transcribing the information from the book and
updating dates and names where needed. An entirely new generation has been born since the compilation of the book!

first trip to Maine had seemed to have disappeared from the site. After a short period of confusion, I finally found it: on
Barney's bio page. I have put a link to that page on the Patrick and Bridget Bio page. On another note, I recieved some
info from a family member that has been very helpful in updating the page for Alfred McCollor. I took the opportunity
to do some extensive research on that line. They are planning to send me photos of grave markers for that line, which is great!

6/3/2010 - Some updated information has been entered in the Thomas Kennedy McCollor line, thanks to two descendants, one of
which kindly sent me some photos for the cemetery project. I'll be adding the photos soon. Update 5/29/10 - In the last couple of weeks I've been making some updates to the
lineage charts. Selfishly, I've been concentrating on Phineas McCollor's branch, seeking to learn more about Norris McCollar and his child bride Estella. I found some interesting stuff, such as
making contact with descendants of the adoptive family of their first daughter, Eva, who died at 8 years old (my next step
it to try and find out where she was buried and possibly that will lead to finding out where their second daugther and maybe
even Norris are buried). I also learned that Estella, who seemingly abandoned her daughters as babies, remarried and died
in Melford giving birth to a son almost 14 years after Eva's birth. I was able to make contact with that man's child, who
is, I suppose, first cousin to my father. This is the part of genealogy research that is most fun, especially when there
are still major players surviving, albeit elderly (Dad is 80 this year!). OK, enough of the self-endulgence, a descendant of Thomas McCollor (youngest child of Patrick and Bridget), has generously
given me some updated information, which I have added to Thomas' lineage chart, and am still in process. They have promised me some photos including that of Mame's grave marker. I will post them
as soon as I get them, so be sure to check back. I will repeat here my constant plea for those of you who might have photos
or stories or copies of documents that you might want to share, to please send them to me for the site. I hope you are all planning a safe Memorial Day!

4/1/2010 In my research tonight I found a page from the Fairfield, Maine, Lawrence High School 1907 Yearbook that
had a profound short essay written by a Gloria MacLeod. Written over a hundred years ago, it could easily have been
written by a teenager today. I thought I would share it here: In This Changing World Tonight, the sky is breathtaking, filled with all the splendor of
tiny twinkling stars. The moon shines in all her glory down upon her kingdom of wealth, power, fame and inevitable poverty
and disease. In some dark corner of the earth, perhaps, lies some poor wracked body awaiting the blessed release from
a world of misery, suffering, pain and agony. Another scene calls forth beauty, music, and happiness as young
people dance and frolic in a world of brightness and gayety. The world has been, and will be for many generations
to come, a place of uncertainty. People will be born; people will die; some will live and die in peace untouched by cold reality;
others will know only cruel, hard lives where death is met with unbounded joy and thanksgiving. Such is the world in
which we live. But in this world we can always look with faith and certainty to one place that will never change. Yes, the
sky is beautiful tonight.

UPDATE 4/1/2010 I've updated some data in the Patrick McCollor Jr. line. Update 3/28/2010: I've updated some of the lineage information
for Catherine McCollor's line, particularly the Chalmers branch, and added photos of some documentation to her line as well
as to Phineas' line. On Edward's line I was able to add several marriage dates I did not previously have. Update 3/20/2010 I found an interesting site to share, it is a "library"
of sorts, with many books and other media relevant to Maine and to genealogy of many surnames, historical events, states and
regions. At this site I found what I consider to be an interesting snapshot of the causes of death in Maine in the years 1904

2/11/2010.... I am a happy girl! Thanks to Doris Mahoney (my frequent "partner in crime") a trip to the
Maine State Archives earlier this week proved very fruitful. Finally, I have vital records for my Grandmother Helen McCollar
Merchant, and have celebrated by proudly placing her on the lineage chart, in the Phineas branch. My Grandmother had a rough
life and died young, as many did I suppose. It has been my mission since the birth of this site to find out more about her,
however, her true parentage remained a mystery. Until now. You can see the updated lineage chart HERE. Irene

Update 1/10/1 -- Little things are being expanded on and corrected, not much that is noticeable by
someone not looking specifically for that event/person. REQUEST: I tried to expand on the lineage chart of Nancy McCollor/Sands and was surprised
I ran up against so many walls. One thing is the children of Bridget (Nancy's grandchildren) seemed to have disappeared
upon her death and the remarriage of her husband. Where did they go? If anyone has any information to share, old or recent,
on that line, please EMAIL me. Update 1/1/10 -- I started to type '09 but corrected myself!
Wow! 2010. I'm making corrections now a few a night, so keep checking in once in a while. I'd really like to add
documents and newsclippings and photos as much as possible - so send them in, it will only enhance our site and make it more
valuable to our descendants, which is much of what this whole site is about: making a permanent record of our lineage. REQUEST: I need to find someone
in different areas settled by the McCollors to contribute to the Cemetery Project. This means areas where McCollors settled,
were buried, and the others moved away. Anywhere there are McCollor grave-markers, it would be great to have photos. This
always applies to photos of structures and neighborhoods, too, even if they have been modified over the years. Please contact me if you are willing to take photos and where. Update 12/27/2009. I'm BACK! Slowly at first, just getting some of the corrections done. Just to direct you to some of the additions/corrections

9/16/09 -- Just a quick note, I'm itching to get back to work on making
those lineage corrections, posting the autograph book, and so much more! I still have the Peter McCollor journal to scan in! I have almost finished enough business that I might soon be able to take a little
time to work on this site. (You can see one of the websites that needed updating and I redesigned early this month, at www.whiteheronstudios.com). Now I have to concentrate on getting new inventory posted on one of my store sites: www.poeticthreadsboutique.com and getting the boutique open again later next week. Then FINALLY I'll have some time to breathe and work on this site.
This is starting to feel like an advertisement for my businesses, sorry! I just wanted you to know I haven't disappeared and

up in an antique store in Keene NH. It's packed with McCollor and other family names! We thank Patricia Wood for her generosity
in researching the names and finding us to send it to. I can't wait to post the pages on here, but am still going to be away
from adding new stuff for a bit. Just thought I'd tell you about it, so you can count on seeing it here. Irene
8/17/09 -- An interesting page for you to check out. This list
is a record of valuation census from sometime around the middle of the nineteenth century. Bodoney Upper is the Plumbridge
parish. This is after Patrick and Edward came here, but it's interesting to see how many McCullagh's and McBride's there are!
UPDATE 8/3/09 I have completed lots of new features, and a little bit of a cosmetic overhaul -- I hope
you enjoy them. My most recent completed project is the alphabetical reference page, where you can look up relatives by their
names. There is a link to the McCollor/McCullough first name reference page there, or use this link: McCollor/McCullough. I will be away from the site for a while,
now, as there has been some very good developments in the popularity of my artwork that are going to monopolize my energy
in coming weeks. When I return I want to work on making the corrections in the lineage data which I have recieved through
emails from relatives up to date. This is of course very important, I want so much for the information on these pages to be
as accurate as possible. During my haitus, there are several ways you can contribute to the site: 1. PLEASE send in any corrections or additions you might
have. 2. SEND ME by
email or if neccessary, by regular mail, photographs and scanned documents, obituaries, anything that will make this site
more interesting and resourceful to current generations as well as future ones. Please
do not send by regular mail original documents. Please make a copy and send me the copy. If a photograph is the only copy
you have, please don't send it regular mail. Either make me a copy or scan it into your computer. I don't trust the mail enough
with irreplaceable items. 3. I NEED CO-CONSPIRATORS in developing
the Cemetery Project. If you live near the graves of any of the people in our lineage charts, would you take the time to photograph

Update 7/3/09 Many great comments, vital data and corrections have been emailed to me Ain the past couple of months.
I promise I will be recording the data on the site as soon as I am able. This means after the reunion, but know it will eventually
be completed. There are a few site projects planned, so be sure to check the site frequently! UPDATE
12/14/2008 I'm finding the process of updating the lineage charts to reflect the last couple of decades vital
records a little tedious yet fascinating if that is possible. This is the time when I need proof-reading more than ever! I
don't want to provide erroneous data, so please if you see an error, correct me! I'm adding new generations
to each lineage chart beginning at the bottom of the list and moving upwards. Did you know you can print the charts? At the
bottom of each chart is a button to click on and it will give you a print-ready page with a white background instead of the
green one (to go easy on the ink!). This is nice if you are keeping a binder of the charts. I'm also updating the page
of alphabetical names reference as I go along. - Irene

to be a lot of variety of entertainment and historical documentary on this video, personally I find it to be a most fantastic
site. You should check it out!
UPDATE 1/10/2009 HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! If you are a frequent visitor to the site, you might have noticed
nothing new has been added for about a month, now. Please don't stop checking, as I am hoping to get back to the site
before the middle of February. Everyone has been sick with bronchitis and I've been working additional hours at the Organic
Food Co-operative. I look forward to coming back to the site soon. In the meantime, don't hesitate to send me information
that would be helpful, especially for the lineage charts. Also welcome are anecdotes from your McCollor ancestors - those
stories that are handed down generation to generation which inspire or entertain us. Funny stories are most welcome of all.

Anyone have information
they are willing to share in regards to this CATES marriage license? Curiously, this marriage occurred when the bride was
14 years old. If you can tell me if the bride and groom were of the Cates line of McCollors, and where they fit in, or any

UPDATE
11/10/2008 I've been slowly going through the charts filling in events
(deaths, mainly) which have occured in the last 25 or so years since the publishing of the Stigman/Nelson book. It will take
quite awhile, and it would be great if "cousins" out there could look their own ancestry line over and let me know
if there are some dates I could use or if the dates I have put in are not correct. My goal after updating this is to start
the charts for the descendants of the "other" brother, Edward II.

11/7/08 - INDEX TO SURNAMES
I've added a section that lists all the names in
the lineage charts, you'll see the link to the left in the navigation links. The reason for this is to aid anyone who
is researching a name connected to our family tree but not necessarily McCollor or McCollough. After a short time the
index should start showing up on Google searches. Each name should be linked to that specific lineage chart, but I am sure there are broken and wrong links here and there. If you should find a link that
is dead or needs to be corrected, please let me know, it would really help me in providing the best information I can for
us all. UPDATING LINEAGE CHARTS
While the Stigman/Nelson book has been an incredible
source for much of the information herein, especially lineage charts, I realize time has flown by since this book was written.
There have inevitably been deaths and births and divorces, all of which need to be recorded, bringing the lineage charts up
to date. I've decided to put off scanning the journals and spend time updating the lineage charts instead. As always,
please contact me if you spot any errors. I've just added another chart to the list, check it out.

UPDATE
JULY 16, 2008! I'll bet you all thought I'd abandoned this site. I'm still trying to find adequate
time to work on it, and am hoping I can do that very soon. I do have a little tid bit to share: I was contacted today
by one of our many many "cousins", her name is Kathleen Papillo, and she lives in Tolland, CT. She writes that she
is a descendant of Edward McCollough. She reports that her grandfather was born in Plumbridge, Ireland (see information on
Plumbridge on this site), a son of Michael and Mary (Neville) McCollough. He immigrated to America and as a young man fought
and earned a purple heart in WWI. After the war he returned home to Plumbridge to de-stress and work on the family farm. Later
he moved back to America and settled in Connecticut where he became a decorated fireman. He married Kathleen's grandmother,
Bridget Agnes Glynn from Irishtown, County Mayo. (Michael...Bridget... these names are repeated many times in our ancestry!).
They had 7 children. Kathleen traveled to Ireland in 2006 but didn't make it to Northern Ireland. She hopes to return
someday and go to Plumbridge to see her grandfather's birthplace. I told her we should all get together (all us McCollors)
and charter a trip to save us all money and take a heritage tour! Someday, maybe when the dollar is a little better in the
UK. I look forward to photos Kathleen has agreed to send along, and also working with her to record the link between
Edward McCullough and her great-grandfather Michael. Perhaps Michael was another son of Edward, brother to Patrick and Edward,
the brothers from which most of us are descended? This would be interesting to explore, hopefully she has some interesting
information for us. Another development is my decision to just scan in the Peter McCollor journals, rather than depend
on finding the time to transcribe them. I'll get started on that as soon as I possibly can. Check back for
Kathleen's photos, I'll put them up on the site as soon as I receive them! Take care, Irene
