If your name is McCollor, or McCollar, you are
very likely a descendant of Patrick or Edward McCollough, who emigrated to Canada and the U.S. in the early nineteenth century from Ireland. Past home page announcements, photographs, and other information are archived HERE, check them out if you are new to our site.

Update 11/7/2011... I invite
you all to view the new format via the sample pages I have recently created. You will note I now have an easier to follow vital data tree format, and a separate page for the
growing collection of stories, documents and photographs I have for many of our ancestors. I'm especially excited about
the stories and memories that I am hoping will be shared by family members with this site. I will also add a "wish
list" page that will list documents, or information that I and others who are researching the family are especially interested
in having. Please, if you would like to share a narrative about your own ancestor, I would love to post it on the site
as I have in the new pages for my own ancestors. As I go along, I will be correcting and adding data that has been shared
with me via emails from many "cousins". Enjoy!
Update 10/29/2011... Thanks
to all for your patience. I am finally forcing myself to reserve "ME TIME" which is time to finally work on
this site, which I have put my heart and soul into for quite a few years, now. I have first been inputting information and
corrections that have been emailed to me, but you will not see them yet as I will "publish" them (show them on site)
when I have more work done. In addition to the new data, I am designing what I think is a much more user-friendly and
attractive design. You can see for yourself my design experiment HERE, or by clicking on the link in the navigational menu at the left of this page. I'd love to hear your feedback, positive or
negative on the changes. I will finally provide all the new stuff I have been promising in earlier updates. So much to do...
Take care! Áine (Irene MacCollar)

Update 10/13/2011...
Thanks to all who have emailed in the last few months with information for the site. I am so itching to get
back to work on it that I just HAVE to find the time somewhere. As promised earlier this year, I have so much more data
to enter about the family history before coming to North America; it's very exciting the wealth of records from Ireland and
Scotland that have been made available in just this past year. So, I'll try really hard to get back to work on the site,
and PLEASE keep the emails coming! I find lots of records through various resources but ultimately it is the family who can
provide me with the most accurate and complete information. Take care! Áine Irene

Kenneth
McCollor and his school project presentation! His Mom, Kristy, writes "His presentation is on the origin of the McCollor name. It features Patrick and Bridget, and then our line
of Thomas and Mary. He added information on Tyrone, Quebec City, and then Maine. In the center is a family code of arms we
found online." Kenneth found this website while researching his project, and I'm very grateful that he and his
mother shared his work with the site. It reminds me of one of the reasons I created the site: to record and make widely available
via the internet, the family data, stories, photos and documents for current generations and those yet to come. If
you have any of these items or data to share with the site, PLEASE contact me, I would love to hear from you!

Haven't visited in awhile? Visit these (fairly) recently updated pages! New additions
and corrections are being made a little at a time. I've been able to add more images here and there, including autographs,
vital records, some photographs and newspaper clippings. I am hoping to add so much more, and could use any submissions from
you all out there, emailed TO IRENE

the overall site look -- I want to acknowledge where the artwork is coming from in these links:
